Church thief identified by Mongey CCTV System

St Mary’s Church in Navan was the unfortunate scene of a double theft last weekend when two parishioners were targeted by a thief who allegedly stole one woman’s handbag and another man’s mobile phone during Saturday evening Mass.

The thefts were recorded by a state-of-the-art CCTV System which Mongey Communications recently installed and Gardai are currently investigating the incident. Fr Declan Hurley, parish administrator said, “Thankfully our security camera system allowed the members of An Garda Síochána to identify the suspect immediately”.

Mongey Communications provide Complete CCTV System Solutions for many organisations across Ireland and the UK, including church security and surveillance. Protection of mass-goers’ belongings and prevention of church desecration is becoming a higher priority nowadays. Installing CCTV cameras has proven to be one of the most effective ways to prevent theft and other crimes and also to help to identify criminals so they can be apprehended.
