Dublin Port is the largest freight and passenger port in Ireland and handles almost 50% of all trade within the Republic. Located in the heart of Dublin City and at the hub of the national road and rail network, it is a key strategic access point for Ireland and, in particular, the Dublin area.

As a busy and thriving facility, Dublin Port has many hazards and areas of high security, therefore safety is of paramount importance. In line with this, Mongey Communications recently undertook a project on behalf of Dublin Port Company (the entity responsible for operating and developing Dublin Port) to completely overhaul the entire CCTV control, viewing and recording system at Dublin Port.

This substantial task involved replacing the existing “Head-End” analogue equipment with an IP-enabled control recording and viewing platform using distributed recorders across a number of remote locations. This will ensure Dublin Port is ready for the future phased replacement of the port camera equipment with high definition IP cameras.
